A New Home

After a quick month of travel I am all settled into a new place to call home.  I had a bit of time of at the beginning of January.  I used this time off to go spend time with friends in Durango as well as do some snowboarding.  I went back to California for two days before leaving for Arizona.

My new home is a condo in Mesa Arizona with three of my Gateway Harley Davidson/Trek teammates.  We will be calling this home base until the end of March.  We just recently had our first team camp held here in Mesa where we were able to meet our new teammates.  Our racing season will officially start on February 2nd with the Boulevard Road Race in San Diego.

I am really looking forward to getting the season underway and want to thank Gateway Harley Davidson, Trek, Bontrager, Honey Stinger and Oakley for making this season possible for me.

New Years Resolution

As one of my New Years resolutions I am going to do a better job keeping my blog up to date.

I have been living in California since October and taking classes at Foothill Community College.  I am happy to be racing with the GateWay Harley Davidson/Trek u23 team again this year.  The team has been very gracious in getting us a team house in Mesa Arizona for the remainder of the winter months.  I will be relocating there on the 17th of this month.

Thanks for reading!

I promise to have more frequent posts this year!

So when you get a txt from Linsey Corbin saying you should update your blog you should probably do it. So!

Here is a quick update.
I took my finals at Fort Lewis a week early to get to Joe Martin, the race went well I placed 8th in the opening uphill time trial.  We closed out the race with my teammate Isaiah taking 4th on GC.  From Joe Martin I flew back to Durango... for a day before driving to Ogden, UT to race Collegiate Nationals.  We ended up winning the team time trial.  It was a bit of a surprise as we thought it did not go well at all after losing a guy relativity early in the race.  We took the stars and bars 4 seconds over Stanford.  The road race and crit went ok for the team.  We had guys finish 4th and 6th.
From Ogden I drove back to Missoula and surprised my mom for an early mother's day present.  I was home for two days before flying to St. Louis where the Gateway Harley Davidson cycling team is based.  I did a local race before heading to Iowa and Illinois for a series of Criteriums and a road race from Friday to Monday.  I went back to St. Louis for a day before flying to Portland where I am currently staying in a host house with our team in preparation for the Mount Hood Stage race that starts on Friday.  For race updates tune in to the teams new twitter page (GHDcycling)

The last month and a half has been a whirlwind of travel but I have loved it!

A look Back at a Great Season

While on my ride today I was looking back on what an amazing experience I had this past season living in California with teammates and racing for Specialized.  One of the greatest parts about this was not just being able to leave high school a semester early but all of the great people I have met that have helped me along the way this year.  I want to say a special thank you to some of the people that made this year possible.  Larry Nolan, Wyatt Weisel, Steve Cassani, Dylan Casey, Specialized and last but not least my parents.  I couldn't have made this happen without any of these people.
Plans are starting to work out for next year and will be announced in about a month.

College!

With my season wrapping up I have started college.  I am attending Fort Lewis College in Durnago Colorado.
It is going well so far.  I have some of the best room mates I could ask for Payson McElveen and Kyle Amberman.  Payson is one of the United States top mountain bikers in his age group.  With him here it makes training a bit more exciting as I am not always riding alone.
I am majoring in exercise science.  Coincidentally so is Payson, of my five classes we have four together.
As for the racing next year I am still undecided on which team I will race for.
I am planning on doing a much better job of updating the blog in the future!
